Thank you, Greater Olney Civic Association!

I was honored to attend the meeting of the Greater Olney Civic Association last night in Olney. It was good to see so many old friends and to meet new people. We had a good conversation about the FY11 operating budget just approved by the Council and the complex fiscal issues facing the County. Among many things, we talked about the factors related to the decline in County income tax revenues and State revenue write-downs, the future cuts in county programs and services, the County’s reserve policy, the MCPS budget, and the critical need to look at restructuring of County government.

Many thanks to President Matt Zaborsky for the kind invitation to attend the GOCA meeting and the opportunity to talk with the GOCA representatives and neighbors.
